The
one that I want would have to be Sandy’s disco pants. Even though disco is dead
and so is John Travolta’s career, disco pants have become such a hot trend in
street fashion and they can be so versatile and look good in every
seasons. My sister, Christine, got a pair of them for Christmas this year but
before when she was ordering them online, I had actually never heard of
“disco pants”. When she told me she was
ordering disco pants from American Apparel I was picturing some shiny,
metallic, sequenced hot mess of a pair of pants. I had to see what these were
before I let her make any fashion fopa, which made me realize these pants were
actually really cute.
So, here she is with her American Apparel Disco pants
These
pants come in so many different colors, pants or shorts, and are super comfy, it’s hard not
to like them. They can look great paired with a grungy outfit, a chic blazer,
an oversized sweater, cropped tops, or like Sandy in Grease, an off the sholder top.
Many celebrities have been seen taking this trend to the streets also:

Fun fact - Olivia Newton John had to be sewn into her "disco pants" because the zipper broke, and the fairground scene had to be filmed in one shot because there was no saving the pants after sewing her into them.
ReplyDeleteAs for how to style these pants, I'd say a simple white tee, or maybe a sheer button down blouse. Maybe a denim jacket. Some heels or studded booties. There are lots of ways to style these pants! I'm not sure I would wear them - they're outside of my "classic with a twist" style, but they're certainly fun.
These "disco pants" as you call them are definitely cool, but I am pretty sure I would look... lets just say not so skinny in them. Something about the cut, combined with the shiny fabric and super tight fit just makes this super hard to wear, at least if you have any issues about your lower body.

DeleteI've always admired women who are able to wear these "Disco Pants" as you named them...Olivia Newton John was absolutely amazing in them and I see Gwen Stefani is a hotie in them as well, but you really have to be in top shape to pull these off, so probably not for me...least not this Spring, but they are super cute!!!

DeleteDisco leggings are HOT! I actually have collected a variety of colors! I am not the biggest fan of the American Apparel ones because they simply do not fit my body correctly, but thats just me. They look fabulous on everyone else though! Great choice!!!
